Meet Daniel Blumberg, Software Lead at PartnerHero
Hello! I’m Daniel, I’m 31 years old and the Lead SQA Engineer here at PH.
I was born in Modesto California, and spent the first 16 years of my life there before moving to Idaho where I got my degree in Computer Science at the State University. I’ve spent the last 3 years in Boise, most of which has been spent at PartnerHero.
I’m a big gamer! I like being able to experience new stories, or finding virtual adventures to get in with my friends. I’m also a huge foodie, I’m always looking for the next delicious meal. I spend way too much money on sushi!
I’m generally happy when I’m in a situation where I’m learning or experiencing something new;
This feeds into my desire to travel more! Music is also great; I love to listen, and play along when I can.
I’ve been focused on improving my physical health. I’ve actually been able to lose a lot of weight since quarantine started, and I’ve found a productive routine that I’m very happy with. I’ve started playing a lot of tennis since quarantine started, and I’ve gotten pretty good! It’s my way to get out and stay active while still being socially responsible.
Personally, working from home helps me feel like I maintain a better work-life balance.
Being at home while getting work done allows me greater flexibility in my overall day, which makes the work day feel less stressful for me.
Managing the social aspect has been the biggest challenge. It’s critical to find outlets to socialize with people! Adjusting to virtual hang out sessions was tough. My cat enjoys me being at home more often; she’s become my new best friend. Say hi, Yuna!
Being an engineer is amazing! I get to work in an environment where I’m frequently working with software and problem solving, which is fun to do! Also, being a lead allows me to work with a lot of interesting and wonderful people, and work with them to achieve cool things.
