Hi, I’m Katie. I am part of the People Experience team as a Talent & Organizational Partner.
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, which is a strange place to be from, and people usually think I grew up living in a hotel or casino. I’ve lived in Oregon for about 4 years now. I miss the desert sometimes but Oregon is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
Something you may not know about me is that before I got into HR work I worked in sales and then customer support. Those experiences helped me determine that I wanted to pursue a career in HR.
I don’t have one hobby, I like to dabble. I do love being outside - hiking, camping, swimming. I love new experiences and traveling is one of my favorite activities. I’ve been working on my green thumb and learning how to be a better caretaker of my indoor and outdoor plants. I find it especially fulfilling to eat something that I helped to grow.
Something new I just started is pottery. My husband and I are taking a throwing class together.
What I love most about my position is that I get to be creative while learning about people and helping others.
Once upon a time I went to art school, and decidedly that path was not for me, but I am so grateful to have found a career where I can use my creative energy in a different way.
