Meet Marcia Torres, Sr. Global Director of Talent Acquisition and Head of Inclusion & Belonging at PartnerHero.
My name is Marcia Torresand I am proud to lead the Talent Acquisition team here at PartnerHero!
I was born in Boston, but my family is from Chile. I grew up most of my life in Corvallis, Oregon but then left after college to Los Angeles and then to Williamsburg, Virginia. So a few years ago, I decided to move back to Oregon to be closer to my immediate family, and so now I live in Portland! I have a son who is sixteen and two little fluffy dogs. I am also the oldest of two.
I majored in Food Science and I did side gigs as a personal shopper and closet organizer. I did Slalom and Giant Slalom downhill ski racing competitions in high school.
I love being a soccer mom and still play when I can. I also enjoy traveling to tropical beaches, visiting museums and seeing the architecture. But most importantly, I love being a mom and a tia!
One of my newest passions is a new podcast that I started with my friend called F* the Seat where we talk about leadership, diversity, equity, and inclusion. And my personal goals are to remind myself to balance family and work, to be a better person than I was the day before, and to travel and see the world with my son.
So during COVID, I bought my first nail gun, laid tile, replaced the toilet and have learned some other home DIY projects. With COVID this year my son has been going to online school and so we’ve decided to make every Friday “new restaurant for lunch” day.
We both enjoy trying out new local spots and food trucks. I enjoy working in roles where I can
make an impact on the entire organization, and get to see talent growing up at the company.
PartnerHero has allowed me the opportunity to do that and work in a global community.
So if you want to talk about shoes, clothes shopping, or traveling feel free to reach out.
